Last "trip" post

These are the last photos I'll post of our trip to Salt Lake. This is us just hanging out in Craig & Cyndi's empty apartment. We left a few chairs and the television, of course, since American Idol was on!*S*

The Big Move

I'm about done with photos from our trip to Salt Lake, but I had to blog Craig & Cyndi's moving process. Craig rented the truck and we packed it in a few days; it was a "process". After graduation and the reception at the college, we all went back to Craig & Cyndi's apartment, changed, and to to work to finish up so they could leave the next morning for Palm Springs. Of course, we cannot forget the cleaning crew either! Thanks Julie and Aunt Linda! *S*

Kaylee and the "boys"

On Friday, the day that Julie, Kaylee and Donna were flying back to Dallas, we all went to the Gateway Mall downtown Salt Lake. It's an outdoor mall and the weather was sunny but cool. While Julie, Donna and I were in Forever 21, Kaylee went with her Grandpa outside and they sat on this bench with Brent and Kiel. I thought this was a darling shot from the back.

The front view of "the group" sitting on the bench. Doesn't Kaylee look like such a big girl?*S*

My 1st Photography Lesson from Misty's blog

Rob was out in the backyard "chipping" so I thought I'd take a few of him.

I hope this photo turned out right

My "landscape" shot. There's not much right by my house to take photos of!

Dad just hanging out in the family room after a day of work.

Brent on his laptop. I told him to "give me the eyebrow" *S*

So, Misty what do you think?

A Few more pics of Craig & Cyndi's graduation(to see more link to their blog)

Craig & Cyndi graduated from LDS Business College on April 10th at 2:00pm; it has held in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. Cyndi received her degree in Interior Design and Craig received his in Business and then a year certificate in Accounting and in Sales. We arrived at the Assembly Hall around 12:45 and Cyndi's parents had saved us some good seats; thanks, Claudia!

Brent had actually called me that morning and said he was just leaving Rexburg to head down and didn't realize that the graduation was at 2:00pm! He had asked if it would be okay to wear a polo shirt and jeans(since that's what he had on). But when he got there, he was dressed rather nicely! (he said he had changed in the car!*S*) He wasn't too late; he made it for Cyndi's speech.

It was a beautiful afternoon to take photos on temple square.

Update

Good news! The guy who got burned on Dad's crew last week is home from Seattle Harborview Hospital and it sounds like his burns are not the worst they could be. (I always get confused; is 1st worse or is it 3rd? *S*) Anyway, the company is investigating; so far Dad has been questioned twice and they were able to talk to Gordon (the burned guy) and he told them that he used the wrong tool to read the voltage. So, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. We are just so glad that Gordon is on the mend from his accident.

Our Girls' Day Adventure

Obviously I am not going to post our Salt Lake trip in any order, but on Tuesday it was a "girls' day". Donna, Julie, Kaylee and I drove down to Provo since Donna wanted to see her old alma mater, BYU and to eat at the Brick Oven(yummy!). After we ate lunch we went to the University mall since we heard there was a big treehouse for kids. We heard "old news" since it had been torn down quite a while ago due to plumbing problems?*S* So, we had to find something for Kaylee to do so we found a small arcade that had a few things for small kids to do; one of them being a carousel. It was the longest carousel ride that I've seen so far in an arcade.

After we had played at the mall for several hours we headed back up to Sandy to meet Craig and Cyndi at the Mayan, but first I had to make a stop by our old house. This is where we lived before moving to Walla Walla. The house looks pretty much the same even with the baby poop siding color!

The Mayan is a great Mexican-type of restaurant in Sandy. It's set up similar to a ride at Disneyland. In fact, while we were waiting to be seated there was a little girl next to us that commented that she was a little scared; it felt like she was going on a scarey ride.

While eating, they provide you with some entertainment. They have people dressed as Mayan Indians who actually dive off of cliffs into a small pool. This photo(I hope it's the right photo) isn't very clear but the guy is waving around a fire baton. The actors even come around by the tables and speak "mayan"; although it sounded like jibberish to me!

A scarey thing happened on Dad's crew

Yesterday a very scarey thing happened to one of the guys on Dad's crew while they were working in Touchet.. While Dad was running an errand, the next senior guy thought he was using a voltage meter but it was not and it resulted in his being burned. the other guy there was working and saw a big ball of fire all around the guy's head. So he put him in the truck and headed to the hospital in Walla Walla (probably St. Mary's). He called Dad while en route and Dad met them at the hospital. He was flown to Seattle Harborview Hospital. It has affected Dad in so much that he took work off today and the man that drove him to the hospital told them yesterday he would not be in today(this is the 2nd time he's seen an accident like this). Everyone at PP&L is very supportive; in fact, this morning one of the other PP&L employees came over to check on Dad and Debbie, the secretary also called to check on Dad. OF course there will be an investigation by the Company on Monday. The most important thing is that Gordy gets well. From what we have heard the prognosis looks good; one of the rumors was that he'll be coming home today or at least in a few days. Our prayers are with him and his family. I guess this is a BIG reminder to the Linemen that their jobs are dangerous and to ALWAYS be on their toes. I will post again when we really know how Gordy is.

A Wal-mart that has an escalator for shopping carts!*S*

Okay, so this is entirely silly but on Wednesday night around 9pm (the night before the graduation), Donna and I were at Craig & Cyndi's (Dad had driven Julie back up to Kaysville in order to see Casey(sp?) and Chad and their kids from Tremonton) and decided to go to Wal-mart since Craig needed something to fix a hole in their air mattress. This Wal-mart appears to be 2 story since the parking is up top and you take an escalator down to the store. Anyway, we bought a few things and didn't even have a cart but Craig grabbed one to show us how the escalator worked for the carts. Donna, forgive me for posting this pic, but I had to!LOL

So to explain the photos a little: when you're leaving the store with your cart there is a separate little spot for the carts to be pulled up. Craig is about to grab the cart at the top and then off we go! The last photo is a pic of us all hanging out at Craig & Cyndi's afterward. By that time, Kent, Julie and Kaylee had returned to pick us up to head back to Wayne & MaryLou's house.

Correction

Kent and I drove down to Salt Lake on April 4th! Not the 11th!LOL Sorry about that; I have this terrible head cold and have been sick since returning home from Salt Lake so I'll blame the mistake on that!*S*

Our trip to Salt Lake

Kent and I drove down to Salt Lake City on April 11th(Friday) to be there for Craig & Cyndi's graduation from LDS Business College(on the 10th). I'm going to post the trip by days in order not to go crazy trying to get it all done at once! It was great fun; we stayed at Kent's brother's, Wayne & MaryLou, house in Kaysville, UT. They were amazing hosts and we so appreciated them letting us stay there along with Donna, my sister, and Julie and kaylee! Since it was General Conference weekend, Kent and Wayne drove down to St. George to visit their parents and Paul & Darla and family, of course. So MaryLou and I were left on our own and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We went to Marie Calendar in between sessions and then that evening we went to Deseret Book. MaryLou had not seen 27 Dresses so we went to that in the evening. It was a great old theater and we only had to pay $3.00 to get in! Wish we had one of those in Walla Walla! On Sunday I picked Donna and Julie and Kaylee up from the Salt Lake Airport at 4:50 and we headed back to Craig & Cyndi's apartment . We visited with them until later in the evening. Donna, Kaylee and I took a walk around a big block by Craig's apartment(at the bottom of Capital Hill). Kaylee had fun playing with Cyndi's exercise ball and found a new favorite movie, Cinderella! Kent and his brother Wayne drove back up to Wayne & MaryLou's Sunday evening before we got back.
