Memory Game

1. Add a comment on my blog. Leave one memory that you have had with me(Sharon). It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about us, we'll assume you're playing the game and we'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

A Sunflower among all of the weeds and brush

I have started a gratitude journal and every evening before going to sleep I think of at least 3-5 things that I have been grateful for during the day. There have only been one or 2 days that I've written down only one thing but most days I can think of several. This morning the first thing I saw when I looked out the kitchen window was this sunflower growing amidst all the weeds still left in the backyard where the huge blue spruce had once stood before the big windstorm last January. I am certainly grateful for that sunflower; it teaches me that even when things aren't always great in my life that I can find at least 1 great thing to be grateful for.

This one small sunflower will be the number 1 thing in my gratitude journal this evening and I can even think of several more for today as well.

This garbage disposal was on my list last week. Dad installed it but we had been without one for about 2 weeks. I love this disposal!*S*

Rob all dressed up to help at a wedding at the Country Club

On Saturday evening, one of Rob's friends's sister was getting married at the Country Club and Rob was asked if he'd help "shuttle" guests out to the wedding location. I thought it sounded fun to drive them in the golf carts! Anyway, Rob has been wanting to wear his new boat shoes and hadn't had a chance yet so he took the chance on Saturday. I thought he looked very "clean" and neat. He said the wedding was nice and even saw my friend, Val Cochran and her husband Harold.

lia sophia show

I sell lia sophia jewelry and have been doing it since last November. It is odd that I would even sell jewelry since I never really wore it before(that's what they all say *S*)but I was kind of looking for something to do that wasn't a punch-the-clock job with more flexibility. I am learning alot about jewelry, people and myself. My sister, Debbie, also sells it in Texas and we are always (daily and sometimes more than once!LOL) sharing information and ideas. The company has come out with a new way to showcase the jewelry; it's called Trend Trays. This was my first attempt at the show I had last night. The "elegant" tray (I have taken their ideas and "morphed" them into my own. "elegant" was not one of their ideas *S* I had to simplify it!

Okay, Debbie, this is the tray with all the golds. I used that mirror and sorry, you can see my hand. It's alot more simple than the company is showing.

If you look left of the photo of Stacey London you'll see the "naturals" tray. I like the seashells but the bottom needs something.

This is just a "shot" of part of the table. It's a little difficult to see with dining room chairs in the background. Do you like the gold tablecloth?

This is the credenza that Julie(hostess) had. I liked it without a tablecloth; the wood was really pretty. You can see the Red Carpet P.R. on the left, the "free" jewelry next to that, that no one LOVED enough to book LOL, the slides and you can see the anew and the Trish hanging from the mirror.

What do you think?

Saturday morning/ 2nd Round Russell Cup

Saturday morning started the 2nd round since they played on Friday night. Rob's team lost on Friday night. This is the first drive of the day.

Rob's friend, Jeff Nehr played in the tournament as well. He is a nice guy.

Chipping out of the bunker; Rob's pretty good at that.

This one of the views from the course. The course borders a wheat field and it had been harvested as of Saturday morning. You can see the grain elevators.

Rob had to get it out of the tall grass and on to the green; he didn't make that one. It took another shot to the green and he wasn't happy about that.

Saturday afternoon round/ russell cup

Some of these photos are pretty self explanatory. Just different golf shots.

Rob's "drive" from the back. You can only take so many photos of the same thing and then I have to find different angles!

During the tournament, Drew Reinland was driving around keeping track of how the Vets teams were doing. You have to be 18 years old to play in this tournament or Drew would have been playing as well. I think he'll be a Junior this year.

On the 10th hole you walk past the parking lot; this is Rob's car.

There is a Mulberry Tree on the course that people pick and eat the berries. Dad picked a few so I could taste them. They look like blackberries except that they're a dark purple and I didn't think they tasted quite as good as blackberries, but it was an interesting experience eating wild berries off a tree on the golf course!*S*

Saturday afternoon round / Russell Cup

Saturday afternoon was team play. Rob's partner on this round was Jeff Reinland, who is a very good golfer. They actually blew the other team away!*S*

Driving the ball.

Setting up for the putt

This man's name is Howard Crosby. He is Bing Crosby's nephew. Nice man and right after his drive on the 1st tee, he must have pulled a calf muscle or something because he was in so much pain that he was on the ground! I almost took a photo of it to blog but thought it might not be very nice of me. He limped around most of the 18 holes, but I hear he was better on Sunday because he won his round.

I don't know why I put 2 photos up of Rob and Jeff, but just a little fyi, Jeff is Max and Drew's Dad. (for all of you who know who they are!LOL)

Last Day of the Russell Cup; Individual Match Play

The first photo is Rob and his opponent, Bill Boggs. Anyone recognize him? He was a teacher and baseball coach at Pioneer Middle School. It seems like he taught and/or coached Craig and/or Brent. Am I right?*S*

This was the foursome; Rob is easily one of the, if not THE,youngest golfer in this tournament. The guy in the blue shirt is the golf coach at Whitman.

Chipping on the green and if you'll look closely you can see the ball in the air. I apologize if this photo is a little burry(sorry Rich!*S*)

This is the normal, resting stance in golf. You'll see most of the players stand this way!*S*

Last Day of the Russell Cup; Individual Match Play

Sunday morning at 9:30 Rob teed off for his final round in the Russell Cup. It was individual Match play and his opponent was Bill Boggs.

One of the players for Vet's Memorial was the golf coach for Whitman College. I guess he's been wanting Rob to golf for them for a few years; however, Whitman doesn't give a golf scholarship and it's and EXpEnsive school!

The end of the Russell Cup/ more photos to come

This was the end of the tournament between Veteran's Memorial Golf course and the Country Club and the Country Club won this year.
Thought ya'll would be interested in seeing a photo of your old orthodontist! Gregg Fink golfed a few days for the Country Club and was there to observe on the last day.

Rob and his opponent, Bill Boggs (used to teach at Pioneer Middle School and coach baseball) were even after the last hole. It was a hard fought battle.

At one point Rob wasn't very happy at how he was playing and opted to walk so I took over his cart. This is a shot of Rob and Kent driving beside him.

This was Rob's tee shot; into the trees, but he hit the green from this spot. It's not the first time for Rob to be in the trees.

Just a shot with the harvested wheat fields in the background.

New haircut

Last tuesday Shannon cut my hair and I love it! She does such a good job. Kent took this photo of me today at Rob's tournament.

I took this all by myself last night and it is hard to take photos of yourself!*S*

Our Friday evening

Today Kent and I went to see Mama Mia; we went to the last matinee. I thought it would be a good movie. It was really good; just pure entertainment. The music is really good and Meryl Streep really has a nice voice; in fact, quite a few of the actors have great voices.

It was just fun. We sat next to a group of 3 ladies and the older lady sitting next to me laughed ALOT; more than I did. I did find myself tapping my foot to the beat of Abba and after a few of the numbers I really felt like we should all applaud. I'd go again.

Rob starts his tournament tonight

This weekend Rob is playing in the Russell Cup. It's a tournament between Veteran's Memorial Golf Course and the Walla Walla Country Club; a team tournament. Tonight Rob was playing in, I think, a scramble. It's being played at Veteran's Memorial and Rob is still playing for Vets golf course. The players have had to try out to be on this team; I think there are 12 players with an alternate. This year Rob has the lowest handicap so he is the #1 golfer on their team.

Tomorrow Rob tees off at 8:00am and is playing 36 holes! On Sunday I think it's only 18 holes. On Saturday evening the players have a dinner at the Crossroads Restaurant that's up at Veteran's Memorial.

Wednesday night on the way home from Young Women

On Wednesday for Mutual, the young men and young women met at Bennington Lake and did sort of a mini-athalon. I had never been there in the almost 18 years that we've lived in Walla Walla! It was 8:30 as I was driving home and the moon was sort of low on the horizon and looked so pretty.

I think that this is my favorite time of day. Also, I tried to remember the first lesson that Misty gave us from her photography lessons on her blog.

The Blue Mountain Lavendar Farm

On Thursday, the 10th, I drove myself, Mary Ruther and her daughter, Faith, out to Lowden, WA to the lavendar farm. Faith was here this week visiting from Mississippi and wanted to do something fun. I have never been off the highway towards Lowden so it was a "mini" adventure for me. I got these photos backwards so bear with me!

They have cute little vignettes set up and this one is a wagon with a red & white checked tablecloth.

This is the barn where there are ROWS of lavendar drying by hanging upside down. I couldn't get a shot of the whole thing. The people who own this farm have lived in France, in fact, the husband is from France. I'm not sure why they moved out by Lowden but I was told that the climate in that very spot is the same as it is in France where I"m thinking they grow what else but Lavendar!*S*

When we walked in behind the house there was a nice large, covered patio. They make and sell packages of lavendar lemonade so they have some to taste. It was good.

This is what we saw as were were driving down their front drive to park. I loved how they have some buttercups and poppies planted among the large area of lavendar in the front. Don't know if you can actually see that in this photo.

The last photos of the Lavendar Farm

Lavendar grows in bushes(for anyone who didn't know that) but they have such a "manicured" look.

It was beautiful out there; even with desert around us.

Just showing how straight the rows of lavendar are!

After we cut our bunches of lavendar(even with bees all around ) we went in the little shop and looked around and then sat and enjoyed the cooler (83 degree) air. This is Mary and Faith.

It was a really nice afternoon and something that I've never done before!
